CHRISTMAS IN VEGAS // UNEXPECTED HOSPITAL VISIT

Yes I know I’m a little late doing this post... but I have a good enough excuse! I think? Maybe not I’ve just been a little lazy, rubbish blogger award goes too...

I was super lucky to get my requested trip for Christmas, which was 3 nights in Las Vegas! Flying out on the 24th and landing back 28th. And was lucky enough to bring Alex along with me. We had such a lovely time, as always made the most of Vegas and did a lot of gambling.... maybe too much? And I can confirm I did not win the jackpot. Shame!

We drank lots, ate lots, gambled lots! Unfortunately Christmas morning I randomly started getting shooting pains in my back.. which got a lot worse over time. I started to cry to Alex as I couldn’t even get out of bed by myself. I was not going to let this ruin our trip so I powered though! Maybe that wasn’t the best idea.. but it’s Christmas! I can’t lie in bed feeling sorry for myself all day.

We woke up early, thanks jet lag but also excitement because it’s Christmas!! And Santa has been, we both brought all our presents with us to open in the morning. Absolutely spoiled!

We had breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi, which is a French restaurant opposite the Bellagio fountains. Absolutely amazing food, and views! The prices aren’t too ridiculous either. We had a fair few mimosas to start off our day. (Bucksfizz)

After we went for a walk down the strip, stopping off and having jelly vodka shots at 10am. Standard. Then went to a rooftop bar called “Beer Park”. This place was definitely a bit of us, cold beers, food and games! We played a giant game of Jenga whilst watching the Bellagio fountains.

Later on in the evening we went to the cosmopolitan hotel as for the whole of December they turned the rooftop pool into a ice skating rink, where you can have hot chocolates and s’mores! A group of us went to this which was a lot of fun. Always nice flying with friends. And their partners!

Then it was more gambling, more drinking and then we crashed.

Boxing Day, buffet breakfast and MGM. Unfortunately I was feeling very fragile and unwell and this wasn’t even due to a hangover. So I didn’t really make the most of the mash potato, toast, eggs and cupcake selection..

Boxing Day shopping begun, we went to the outlets! If your ever in Vegas and want to go shopping I definitely recommend the NORTH outlets. We got some amazing bargains, including a whole Calvin Klein tracksuit for myself for just $80!

Later on that day/evening Alex and I met up with a load of the other crew and their partners and we decided to go to Topgolf! Which is behind the MGM. This was a lot of fun, the girls watched the boys played drinks flowing and nachos... a nice way to watch the sunset! And see who was the better golfer... fair to say us girls had a try but the boys definitely shown us up.

Alex really wanted to see Fremont Street that evening, by this point I’m non stop blowing my nose feeling so weak and sick. But I wasn’t going to let him down so we jumped in a cab and went to Fremont. Which is the weirdest place in Vegas ever!

Nuns walking around with their breasts out, naked cow boys, man size babies.. a lot of strange acts! But also some amazing casinos and bars... a lot cheaper than the usual Strip prices.

Story Time:

Now.. to what happened on the flight home, thank you so so much to everyone that messaged me and/or Alex! I was so overwhelmed. And really appreciate everyone’s messages.

I don’t remember a great deal, other than spending 4 hours of the flight on oxygen, in and out of consciousness! Poor Alex by my side the whole time. As sometimes I would go unresponsive. My temp went up to 39 degrees! Which is ridiculously hot... the crew were absolutely amazing, from what I’ve been told and what I remember! Tempus was out, doing my ops! We had high priority speed landing back into gatwick, then the paramedics came on board to check me over. After being wheeled off the plane I then collapsed again on the jetbridge. I was taken to hospital and collapsed again in A&E before being looked at. Had x-rays and bloods taken. No fun! We had to leave all our suitcases and bags in A&E, poor Alex had to wheel me in the wheelchair plus some of the bags about! Baring in mind this is straight after a 9 hour night flight!

Anyway I had some time off work to recover and rest up, and was back to work on the 9th jan! I had a lovely little 4 night Cancun, with Alex also!

Blog post coming...
