BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS // NYC

New York is a city I absolutely adore all year round, but there is something seriously special about New York this time of year. Maybe it's because of all the Christmas films I watched as a kid (and now) they are always set in New York. Dreaaaaamy New York.

Its not for everyone, its very fast paced and busy, and freezing cold at the moment. But you can quite easily find yourself a cute little coffee spot to sit down and hide away for a little white with a flat white or hot chocolate if your being super festive.

I know I say it alot, but I am super lucky to have the job I do, because I do get to go to New York a lot and every time I appreciate it. I just landed back yesterday from a very dramatic, yet lovely trip to the city. First of all we was delayed, because England just can't handle a little bit of snow... and the aircraft was late coming back into Heathrow. So my day was very long, up at 5am and we took off at 3:30pm! So worth it when I was there though, and passengers were lovely.

It was a really busy full flight, full of business men, couples, mothers and daughters, family's. Yet all excited in some way to see the lights. I love these flights because its normally full of people who may have never been to new york before so I love recommending places to go for them.

When we arrived, I don't even remember the bus journey... I was fast asleep! Little power nap before showering and heading straight out to see the Rockefeller Tree and Saks 5th Ave light show. Breathtaking, every time!

We then after seeing the lights headed out to 230 on 5th Rooftop bar, which I have talked about on my blog many times, its free entry and amazing. Over looks the empire state building, however its a little bit pricey when your up there but worth it for the views.

This time of year they have igloos up there and its fully decked out christmassy. Christmas music the lot! And you also get given big fluffy robes to wear whilst your up there because it is FREEZING.

The next day we was up early due to the Terror attack at Port Authority, our hotel is about a 5 minute walk away from where it happened so the sirens of the police, FBI, Helicopters, Fire Engines and Ambulances all definitely woke us up. Was very scary to know something so awful has happened literally minutes away. The captain then rang all of our rooms to make sure we were all safe so he can let the company know. Virgin are very good with things like this, they are on it to make sure were safe at all times!

I then got ready and headed down to meet everyone, it was crazy outside, the roads were shut off full off bomb squads and police. Probably about 10 helicopters hovering over as well. We walked to the scene to see what was happening as we was still not 100% sure, but soon left as it wasnt very safe and way to busy with news reporters!

We had breakfast at Ellens Stardust Diner, which is a very famous diner you usually have to que for a little while to get in but when your inside its like being in a broadway show, the waiters all sing and get up on the tables dance, its actually like a scene from Glee/HSM if anything!

Then we went to the gorgeous Central Park, didn't really do a lot just walked around and took it all in, took lots of photos and enjoyed the atmosphere. Its very cold out there at the moment, it snowed just a couple days before so central park was covered in a white blanket which just looked amazing.

Then it was time to head back to hotel so we can chill out for a few hours before having to get ready to go back to work and fly home. We had such a short flight time back 5 hours 40! LUSH. But bumpy and busy, plus we were flying on the A330... All crew know what that means.

So I definitely wanted a couple hours to just chill out, attempt a pre flight nap. Which never happens, and then doll up to go back home. Im now on my day off and my only day off as Im flying back to NYC tomorrow for a couple nights.  New York overload on my Instagram, sorry in advance!

Thanks for reading dolls xx
